Chrissy Hynde does not speak with an accent. I head her speak once when she came back to Ohio for something. She has a restaurant in Akron, comes to the occasional football game, always sends money or speaks up during a crisis in Ohio. She loves her hometown, and you can see her walking around in the streets, shopping, running errands, whatever whenever she is visiting. Once in a while she will pop off a phrase that is a little foreign to Americans. Everyone can now start lobbing rotten tomatoes at me, but I loved "Ray of Light" in the 90s and that was RNR, right? Kinda sorta?
Anyway, she's not my favorite but I'm sure I could pick a few previous inductees into the Hall of Fame that are even less worthy...and some of her songs I like a lot.
And like it or not, she did change the face of the music industry in the 80s...

I used to be a BIG fan of hers up until 1993. I haven't bought any of her albums ever since and just don't care for her anymore.

I saw "Truth or Dare" when it came out in the theaters back in '91 and loved it. I went to watch it a few months ago and shut it off 30 minutes into it. She just was annoying in it mostly.

Her first album is my favorite since it brings back memories of me when I was hanging out in the Gay bars back in the 80's with my fag friends and her album was like our "soundtrack" to all those times.

I now just see her as this phony piece of crap who needs to retire already and spend time with her 3 kids.

Drudge Report this morning is reporting that Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce. It's in the British press today too. Couple of rumors flying around: one, that Madonna has retained Fiona Shackelton who represented Paul McCartney in his divorce (that law firm has just issued a denial) also two, that there is no pre-nup.
