    Gwar Frontman: Dave Brockie

According to Style Weekly, Dave Brockie, better known as Oderus Urungus, the founder and lead singer of renowned metal band GWAR, has died. Roommates reportedly found Brockie's body at his home Sunday evening (March 23). "I wish it was a joke," former GWAR bassist Chris Bopst, a music writer for Style Weekly, tells the site. "Everyone is in shock." Brockie was 50 years old.

Wow. Only 50. That is young as far as I am concerned.

Never really got into their music. But it was really nice to read the article and see all the responses from all of his friends. And it was weird to see a pic of him sans makeup.

Gwar....made famous by Beavis And Butthead. RIP......could not understand a word you ever said, but you had to guts to say it.
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

I have seen these guys several times at First Ave. in Minneapolis.

    Crazy ~ Wild ~ Cool

Totally outside of my element, but really enjoyed the shows.

We were 1 deep at the front of the stage before the show started, the 1st time I had seen them. I had to be pulled out of the pit after the 1st song by security. Did not see my friends again until we met up at coat check after the show was over... When I was pulled out I walked up to the bar, and the bartender just handed me whatever to drink, I didn't care what it was, I simply looked like I needed a drink...LOL!!

    Good times, good times.

    RIP!
