He was born on October 26, 1918. He made his television debut in TV's early years. He also taught drama in both New York and Los Angeles. His film credits include: "A Tiger Walks" (1964) in an uncredited role as Mr. Wilson, his film debut; "Pieces of Dreams" (1970) as Father Paul Schaeffer; "The Steagle" (1971) as Clergyman; "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" (1974) with Jack Lemmon, as Psychiatrist; "Busting" (1974) as Judge Simpson and "The North Avenue Irregulars" (1979) as Rev, Wainwright, his last theatrical film. He was most prolific on television and was a regular on the series: "Dark Shadows" (1966) a soap, as Dr. Franklin; "Bright Promise" (1969) another soap, as Prof. Mitchell; "Dusty's Trail" (1973) as Mr. Carson Brookhaven and "General Hospital" (1981) as Jason Craig. He also appeared in such TV movies as: "The Last Child" (1971); "Outrage" (1973) and "The Amazing Spider-Man" (1977). He also guest starred on such series as: "Bonanza"; "I Dream of Jeannie"; "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"; "Night Gallery"; "Maude"; "The Partridge Family"; "Barney Miller" and "Little House on the Prairie." He was the father of actress Genie Francis of "General Hospital." He died on October 22, 1986 in Sherman Oaks, California at age 67.
