Why would any woman want to get close enough to this guy to get shot, let alone touched.
Why would any woman want to get close enough to this guy to get shot, let alone touched.
The guys a psychopath! he also pulled a gun on John Lennon wile he was recording them and also at Joan Rivers party he threatened someone with a gun and had to be physically removed! of course nothing will happen to him, rich famous and in Hollywood. I garinfuckingT nothing. at most a fine.
Me thinks he is a creepy creep...
Spector is a weirdo/freak....the trial result was disappointing...he's as guilty as hell IMO
God I love the wall of sound! His music is so big and great to me I adore it! I even had a crush on him from days of the Brill building( I think it was)
I Have the Ronnie book and like her, loved her look. I was someone who superficially loved the idealism of what they portrayed in the photos and music they produced! Who really knows what goes on behind the scenes of the down home and dirty realism of life ours or theirs!?
Obviously his amazingly genius progeny hid a dark side. It always does it would seem or so Re:FAD
Is there is always a price to pay for genius!
Why do they(genius!) seem to self destruct ?(Brian wilson now springs to mind) or become so destructive!
Is it them or the ego, fame and recognision? Does it all become a toxic? Does it all become about balance?

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Phil Spector's lawyers asked a judge on Wednesday for an indefinite stay of the music producer's murder retrial so they can appeal the case on double jeopardy grounds.
Phil Spector is scheduled to go on trial again later this year in the 2003 slaying of an aspiring actress.
Defense attorneys Dennis Riordan and Doron Weinberg want an assurance that prosecutors will not ask jurors to convict Spector on lesser offenses of voluntary or involuntary manslaughter.
Spector's first trial resulted in a jury deadlock on the single charge of second degree murder.
The verdict came after Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler ruled the lesser charges did not apply and could not be argued to the jury.
Riordan and Weinberg said the ruling was tantamount to an acquittal on the lesser offenses. Bringing them up at the retrial would amount to double jeopardy, they said.
Prosecutors have not indicated whether they plan such a move, and Fidler has not ruled on whether he would allow it.
A pretrial hearing in the case is set for Thursday. Other issues to be raised include defense opposition to the proposed testimony of six people who allege Spector threatened them with guns.
Don't Miss
Spector, 68, is charged with murdering actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra mansion in 2003.
Defense lawyers maintained Clarkson turned a gun on herself and committed suicide
I cannot wait for Phil Redux.
Bastard has been free for 5 years +.
agreed. Hopefully they will get a jury with some brains this time and put the jackass away.
Phill may just walk on this. I read on court TV that they are now claiming it will be double Jeporady if they try Phil because the judge would not let the jury go for anything less like manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter. The judge screwed up big time and so did the DA. They have to charge him with pre mediated or first degree. This ought to be pretty interesting and very soon folks.
Geez, why do some many celebs get off? It seems like he just may walk again. There is certainly a different set of rules in Hollywood. If you commit murder, so what, your name will get you off. I'm so sick and tired of all these celebrities that have committed terrible crimes and just get off with a slap on the hand and get to carry on with their lives. The victims and the families never get justice. What is going on out there?
I find it is incompetence of the judicial system. We have judges that make mistakes and prosecutors that are not doing their job . Oj walked because of a prosections poor choice of attorneys. They were more interested in the cameras that were on then what they were doing and of course about the books they were writing. It is not just in lala land that people are walking from murder . It is happening all over. Child killers are getting life instead of death and getting out in 20 years..WTF??
In Phills case there was much room for doubt as with OJ..there was doubt..mishandled evidence and of course cops lies bad move> We need to stop the theatrics in the court rooms and give a clear cut case and chain of evidence to the jurors. Once a jury has doubt in their minds caused by proving that a police officer lied or a the DA's office withelf evidence that could prove innocence thatt is when the tide turns and people walk.
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rock producer Phil Spector murdered an actress in the same "petulant fit of rage" witnessed over the years by other women he held at gunpoint in similar circumstances, a Los Angeles prosecutor told jurors on Wednesday at the start of a retrial in the 2003 killing.
But Spector's lawyer told the jury that 40-year-old Lana Clarkson had reached a low point in her life emotionally and professionally, and took her own life after having a drunken sexual encounter with Spector.
"What the evidence is going to tell you is that Lana Clarkson's body would look the same whether she shot herself or was shot," attorney Doron Weinberg said.
Spector, 68, is charged with murdering Clarkson in the early morning hours of February 3, 2003 as she tried to leave his mock castle in the foothills outside Los Angeles.
A first trial ended in a mistrial in September 2007 after the jury deadlocked 10-2 in favor of a guilty verdict against the man who pioneered the 1960s "Wall of Sound" pop music technique. California law requires a unanimous verdict to convict or acquit.
The diminutive Spector sat quietly through Monday's opening statements dressed in a sober black suit and white tie. Clarkson's mother and sister were among spectators in the packed courtroom.
During his opening statement, Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson reiterated for the new jury the prosecution's theory that the shooting was the final chapter in a long pattern of violence that Spector practiced against women toward whom he had romantic intentions.
"In some petulant fit of rage, he pulled a gun on the unarmed Lana Clarkson as she sat in the foyer of his home and before he was through with her, he put a bullet in her head," Jackson told the court.
Jackson said an empty packet of Viagra pills at the crime scene showed Spector had hoped for sex with Clarkson, and became angry when she wanted to leave his house.
HOMICIDE OR SUICIDE?
In his "panic and desperation" to cover up the crime, Spector rushed to clean up Clarkson's blood and wipe down and plant the gun, leaving his terrified driver to call police, Jackson said.
As in the first trial, the jury will hear testimony from five women whom Spector detained at gunpoint, often pressing the barrel of the weapon to their heads or faces, when they tried to leave his home or hotel after a night of drinking.
The prosecutor also played Spector's expletive-laced voicemail messages to two women who had called police after their confrontations with the music producer.
"Be very careful what you say to people because nothing you say to me is worth your life," Spector said in one message.
Weinberg conceded that Spector "has done things that aren't attractive. ... He has a temper" and "has waved guns" but said Spector had no reason to detain Clarkson because he had already had a sexual encounter with her that night.
An autopsy showed Clarkson had the prescription painkiller Vicodin in her bloodstream and a blood alcohol level of nearly twice the legal limit for driving, Weinberg said.
She had written e-mails to friends saying she was "on the verge of losing it all" and was "hanging on by a thread" due to the failure of her acting career and a romantic relationship.
"As drunk as she was, with the Vicodin, to see a gun and in that moment to do something impulsive and self-destructive is entirely consistent with where she was and how she was feeling," Weinberg said.
Spector first met Clarkson at the House of Blues nightclub on the Sunset Strip just hours before her death. She was working as a hostess at the club where he had gone with a friend for late night drinks. Spector persuaded her to go home with him for a drink.
The trial is expected to last four months.
If they can stomach it, they aren't qualified to serve on a murder jury.
bump
wonder how crazy Spector is doing?
Dommonick Dunne said in a Doco made about him recently(Great!) that it was incredibly hard to get justice in Hollywood, fame, riches and power carry a lot of weight in that town! (My words but sort of what he was saying! Ill find the name of the Doco it was made by Australians incidently and shown on TV here a few months ago!
Poor Lana. A beautiful woman. I hope the sick bastard gets justice somehow, somewhere. It sure as hell won't be in Los Angeles.
I firmly do not believe that Phil Spector committed murder. That being said I think he was part of a killing game,he just didn't realize how much. Does he deserve to go to prison? No. Is he an idiot? Yes.
Lana Clarkson was as much apart of this killing as he was. Let him go but...Corsica.
spector's wife was admonished in court on thursday for taking photos inside the courthouse, which is prohibited. this is the 2nd warning during this trial. she popped off to the same judge during the first trial. he told her next time it's jail.
oh, and phil is guilty, guilty, guilty.
Oh do I want justice for Lana....the fact that that megalomaniac
Spector is still not in prison is completely unbelievable to me
The only "killing game" was the one that Spector had been playing, and winning, for years. It's actually pretty amazing that he hadn't killed someone before this, considering his history.
Lana was sitting in a hallway chair, with her purse on her arm. She was trying to leave.
Even if you believe that Lana was depressed and possibly suicidal, there's no way that a woman would "choose" to spend her last moments on this earth, sitting in a hallway chair, with her purse on her arm, looking into the face of that troll.
He killed her. It may not have been intentional, it may have just been a case of Phil being Phil, but he killed her.
As I was reading through Lana's obituary from the Directory in FindaDeath, the parts about Phil Spector not taking his hands out of his pockets and saying "I think I killed her", or something like that, I suddenly imagined him as Arthur (Dudley Moore's character) in that movie. Like totally drunk and stumbling over himself and saying dumb things. Not to make light of the situation because a beautiful woman was murdered, but his actions made me think of that. Like I am so rich and famous and drunk that I am not really responsible for anything - infact - I think I might have killed her, har har!!
Tamiele, I have to agree and that Piece Of Shit needs to pay.
Anyone have any updates of the retrial? Does anyone know how far along they are in the trial. I haven't been able to find much information regarding the retrial, it's funny when he first went on trial that was all over the news. Now it is barely even on the news regarding anything going on with the trial.
What's up with Phil's psycho wife? Why do they even allow her dumb ass into the court room? I think her behavior is indicative of why certain celebrities think they're above the law. They do whatever the hell they want for so long that they feel inconvenienced and indignant when the elements of real life smack their ass upside the head.
I don't think any gun-playing game was going on between Lana and Phil. I think he wanted to do her and she wasn't having it. Phil is so used to getting his way that he probably just wanted to scare her and pulled the gun out. Likewise on the suicide theory. It's highly doubtful anyone is going to go to someone's house and blow their brains out on a whim. I'm sure in the history of the world it has happened at some point, but that theory is just so out there.
Phil probably will walk again because life is unfuckingfair and as long as he can buy his freedom, he will. If he does go to jail, they're going to have to lock him up in solitary or something because he'll definitely go ape without his plethora of crappy wigs.

Just found guilty of second degree murder. Being taken into custody. Finally.
Justice at last... hopefully Lana and her family can now find some peace.
Just heard Spector was convicted. I'm sure his lawyers are already working on his appeal.

R.I.P. Lana. Today was your day for justice.
Wow! I really expected him to beat the charges again, given his crafty defense team the first time around. Hate to see a legendary professional screw up his life this way, but he deserved it. Its a wonder he didn't kill someone before Lana, he was a ticking time bomb.
Count me surprised as well, and I absolutely think he's guilty. I'm happy for Clarkson's family. My fave Spector story: Supposedly, he tried to intimidate John Lennon with a gun and eventually fired a round into the ceiling, causing him to throw off his headphones and yell: "Phil, if you wanna kill me, kill me, but don't mess with me fookin' ears -- I need 'em!"
YAY! Whacky doodle got convicted! Can I get a whoop whoop?
about time.
I hope the jail term sticks-
I wrote this before,but I have spoken to a few of Lana's friends/co-workers and she was well-liked.
All of them firmly believed it was murder-not one wondered if it was suicide.
Justice for Lana Clarkson, finally! God bless her family, Spector's sons, and sending heavenly hugs to Lana...rest in peace
As for Spector himself, 3 hots and a cot!
You can finally rest in peace now Lana.
Finally justice
R.I.P. Lana
Wow...there IS justice in Los Angeles after all! OJ may have walked, Robert Blake may have walked, but Phil Spector, found GUILTY!
R.I.P., Miss Lana. Today you got justice, and that toad is going to jail.
I don't care why she was there or why she went with him. I don't care what she had on or what she did for a living. She didn't deserve to have a gun shoved in her mouth and the trigger pulled. She certainly didn't deserve to be portrayed as an sex crazed whore and failure who wanted to kill herself in that ass munches' house. He's an abusive turd, and it is too bad she had to die for him to be stopped.
Some women are highly impressed with celebrity. And I'm sure Phil Spector's
name, celebrity and mansion impressed Lana.
Too bad she didn't know his history. One female singer told Spector
that she would come over his house if he would put his guns away.
