    Rondo Hatton

Horror film cult figure whose deformities of the face and body (caused by acromegaly, a distorting disease) inspired Hollywood to cast him as a monstrous killer in several mystery/horror thrillers. His most memorable screen appearances were in "The Pearl of Death" (1944) and "House of Horrors" (1946), both released by Universal Pictures. As a member of the American Legion he fought in World War I, during the course of which he was exposed to poison gas. Some have suggested that this may have triggered his acromegaly. Relatives, friends and co-workers described him as a very kind, gentle and deeply religious man in real life, and he was happily married

I have an old filmfax that has pictures of him before he developed the disease.

Is it possible to scan the pic on a printer and post them here? I am not much of a computer guru...I will be more than happy to post them though!!!

So if someone can PM me and walk me thru this!!!

    Found this online

The survival of everyone on board depends on just one thing: finding someone on board who can not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner.

    Paul Benedict

Born September 17, 1938 in Silver City, New Mexico is an American character actor who has made several appearances in television and movies from the 1960s on.
He is probably best recognized for his roles as The Number Painter on
the PBS children's show Sesame Street, and as the quirky English neighbor
"Harry Bentley" on the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons.
As a young man, Benedict suffered from acromegaly, a pituitary disorder
that affects the extremities and face, which accounts for his slightly oversized jaw and nose.

I watched 'The Brute Man' today. Great B movie, seen by many as exploiting Rondo, but creepily atmospheric.
    Anybody else seen it?

At the moment we're watching an old serial (The Royal Mounted Rides Again), and Rondo is in it. So far, we haven't figured out if he's a good guy or bad one. His pan really adds a nice atmosphere to the film...

I've seen Rondo in quite a few films and have always enjoyed his persona. I'm happy to hear he was such a nice guy in reality.
