I remember when he did a guest appearance on "Alice" and Linda Lavin dressed up like him and then he joined her and they did a duet.

is it only me, or does anyone else think Linda Lavin should have just acted and NOT sang on that show? I mean really, every fucking WEEK she was singing. it killed that show for me, like Potsie killed Happy Days with his stupid songs every week. SHUT THE FUCK UP, AND DO YOUR LINES!!!!!!

I think it must have been written into her contract or something, but it was annoying about her "dream" to be a singer, it permeated the show. She's ok, but I wouldn't say she is known for her voice.

I had a mad crush on Vic Tayback and watched only for him.

I remember that he did this show on Comedy Central called "TV FUNHOUSE" which was by Robert Smigel (the guy that does the SNL cartoons--"Ambiguouly Gay duo!) and Robert Goulet was in Vegas with these puppets (a rooster, a cat and a dog that like to eat poop) and I think he got married to one of the puppets and Evander Holyfield married them in a Vegas chapel. Ah Memories....

If memory serves me, he was in Naked Gun 22 1/2, pretty funny in that role
The survival of everyone on board depends on just one thing: finding someone on board who can not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner.

I actually saw the TV set where Elvis shot a hole through because he saw Goulet. It was on display at Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This would be around 1998, not sure if it is still there or now.

The TV set was tuned to "channel 13". I noticed that for some reason. LOL Wonder if Goulet was on Mike Douglas when this happened? Wonder where did this shooting take place? Both Las Vegas and Memphis have their own channel 13. Elvis spoent a lot time in Vegas back then and of course lived in Memphis.

I remember when Goulet appeared on an episode of Alice with Linda Lavin.
    Funny stuff !!!!

That is so sad. I always thought he was my long lost uncle as we have carry the same last name. I'm only 27 so I don't know much about his career, just that we are both GOULET'S. Whenever someone butchers my last name, I just say "like Robert Goulet, the actor"....."OHHHH...got it". LOL RIP Uncle Robert!

Goulet to Be Honored on Vegas Marquees

As found on MSN Music News:

Robert Goulet's name appeared for years on the marquees of the Las Vegas Strip and will be there again the day of his funeral.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has asked hotel-casinos to honor the late singer and actor by featuring his name on their marquees Friday.
The big-voiced baritone died Tuesday in Los Angeles of pulmonary fibrosis while awaiting a lung transplant.
Services will be held at The Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer in Las Vegas. Among those invited are Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gorme, Michael and Kirk Douglas, Suzanne Somers, Barry Manilow, Celine Dion and Wayne Newton. The public is also invited.

"There's a new girl in tooownnn, and she's...loo-kin GOOD!" All that phoney enunication and scatting.....ugh.

You're right, there is always something lame and obvious when TV stars do that. I have to say I felt the same way about Desi in I Love Lucy....also, why were Fred and Ethel in every show at the Tropicana? Couldn't he hire professional entertainers? Sorry, I digress.... what was this thread about again?

Loved him in BeetleJuice! Oh, Goulet.

"Death doesn't really worry me that much, I'm not frightened about it... I just don't want to be there when it happens."
